Step off the public route and discover a different side of Wentworth Woodhouse. This exclusive Behind the Scenes tour takes you into hidden rooms and rarely seen spaces, offering a glimpse beyond the grandeur of the State Rooms. As you explore these tucked-away areas, you’ll uncover the rich history of the house and the family who shaped it, alongside the challenges that led to its decline.
You’ll hear family stories, as well as explore the restoration challenges that face the House today.
This is your chance to see Wentworth Woodhouse as few visitors ever do - unfiltered, evolving, and full of stories waiting to be told.
- The tour runs for approximately 90 minutes.
- It explores areas that aren’t on the public route.
- Your tour ticket includes House & Gardens general admission on the day of your tour (typically £16.50). Subject to opening dates and times.

Accessibility
to the age and nature of the House, some areas on this tour are only accessible via stairs and there are some uneven surfaces. For queries about accessibility please contact: info@wentworthwoodhouse.org.uk.
Carer's Tickets
Visitors with disabilities may bring an accompanying carer free of charge when paying for a full-price ticket. Carer tickets must be pre-booked online. Supporting documents may be required at the entrances. This includes proof of
- Proof of Disability Living Allowance
- Proof of Attendance Allowance
- PIP letter
- Access Pass
- Disabled Person's Railcard
- Max Card
Service Dogs are welcome on this tour.
Requirements:
- Must wear sturdy, closed toe shoes
- Dress with layers. Some areas of the House can feel cool, even in the warmer months

Ticket options
Gift Aid On Entry
If you're not a member/friend of Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust you have the choice of two entry tickets:
- Gift Aid Admission; or
- Standard admission
As we operate a Gift Aid on Entry, we'll offer you a choice between the Gift Aid Admission price or standard admission price.
It's entirely up to you which ticket you choose, just let us know when you come to pay.
Gift Aid Admission includes a 10 per cent or more voluntary donation. Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid — an extra 25 per cent — potentially a very significant boost to our funds.
Payment of the additional percentage donation is entirely voluntary, so if you prefer to pay the standard admission please advise our staff at the till point or select the standard admission price toggle below when booking online.
