Coming Alive is a two-hour untutored life drawing session held in the incredible Marble Saloon at Wentworth Woodhouse, inspired by the range of depictions of the human form at this historic country house.
For the first half of the session, two life models will create a range of separate poses in response to the space, both static and moving, with attendees encouraged to move between models. For the second half, the models will collaborate on joint poses. The session will combine classic life drawing approaches with more experimental and playful aspects.
Participants will need to bring their own paper, sketchbooks and materials. There are no easels, but A2 boards will be provided.

The Venue
Wentworth Woodhouse is located outside of Rotherham and only accessible by car. We encourage car-sharing for attendees and have set up a web-based portal for this here.
Accessibility
- The Marble Saloon is located on the first floor, and only accessible by stairs, due to the nature of the historic building, so unfortunately is not wheelchair accessible, and maybe difficult for those with limited mobility – please get in touch with specific queries.
- A Hearing Loop is avaialable; please ask a member of the Team
- Accompanying Carers will not be provided with equipment.
- Dogs are unable to attend the event, unless they are an assistance dog.
We hope to run future events in other parts of the building that are accessible by all.
