Wentworth Woodhouse welcomes you back to the annual lecture series.

Join Dr Fiona Pogson for an engaging exploration of the women connected to Thomas Wentworth and the influential roles they played in the political, social and family networks of the 17th century. Through fascinating stories and historical insight, the talk sheds light on the lives of the women behind one of Yorkshire’s most powerful figures.

Dr Fiona Pogson is a Senior Lecturer in History at Liverpool Hope University whose research focuses on Thomas Wentworth, Earl of Strafford, and the politics of the court of Charles I. She has published widely on Wentworth’s career, the Council of the North and early Stuart politics.

Accessibility
