On 6 April join Hilary Widdowson to discover the remarkable story of Painted Fabrics Ltd, exploring how Annie Bindon Carter created meaningful employment for disabled WW1 veterans under the inspiring motto “Work not Charity”. Learn how the company’s beautifully hand-painted and printed textiles gained national acclaim, with designs sold in prestigious stores and even purchased by the royal family.

Carers Tickets

Visitors with disabilities may bring an accompanying carer free of charge when paying for a full-price ticket. Carer tickets must be pre-booked online. Supporting documents may be required at the entrances. This includes proof of

Accessibility

This event takes place in one of our State Rooms.  There is ramp access to the ground floor of the Mansion  and a temporary lift provides access to the first floor.
