Wentworth Woodhouse History Festival

Saturday 12 September 2026, 10am until 4.30pm

History comes alive at the Wentworth Woodhouse History Festival - a day packed with brilliant talks, fascinating stories, live entertainment, and hands-on experiences in one of Britain’s grandest historic houses.

Hear from acclaimed historians, authors, and podcast hosts including Kate Lister (Betwixt the Sheets, The Curious History of Sex, Flick), Maddy Pelling (After Dark, Writing on the Wall, Hoax), Anthony Delaney (After Dark, Queer Georgians), and Catherine Bailey (Black Diamonds).

Alongside the talks, explore living history displays from Redcoats and Revolutionaries, try heritage themed craft workshops, and enjoy live music from Satnam Galsian, Maddie Morris, and a 1940s vocalist.

All talks and workshops are first come, first served on the day and spaces are limited.  Exclusive guided tours of Wentworth Woodhouse are also available to book for an additional fee.

Whether you’re passionate about social history, hidden stories, historic houses, or simply love a great day out, the Wentworth Woodhouse History Festival offers a unique chance to immerse yourself in the past.
