5 November 2025, Restoring and Revitalising Wentworth Woodhouse’s Camellia House by Dorian Proudfoot.
Dorian Proudfoot is an accredited conservation architect and Chief Executive of Donald Insall Associates. Donald Insall’s were the architects who worked on the transformation of The Camellia House at Wentworth Woodhouse, which sat derelict for five decades, was listed on Historic England’s ‘Buildings at Risk’ register. As part of ongoing works to reimagine the wider Wentworth estate, they led a conservation project to restore and revitalise the Grade II*-listed Georgian building. The project has recently been recognised with a Europa Nostra Award, one of Europe's most prestigious heritage awards. Join Dorian to hear more about the restoration and its process.
Accessibility
This event takes place in the Low Drawing Room, which is on the Ground Floor of the Mansion. There is ramp access to the ground floor of the Mansion. Due to the age and nature of Wentworth the first floor is currently only accessible by stairs.
