Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust Ticket Portal

Big House Heroes | Behind the Scenes Private Tours

Various Dates Throughout Autumn

Have you ever wanted to take a wander in our vast cellars, peek over our parapets or discover what’s up in our attics?

Join Head Housekeeper, Beth Gibson, for a bespoke, private tour of four areas of the House that are usually out of bounds to the public as part of our Big House Heroes fundraising campaign. Enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity to see behind the scenes of the largest country house in the UK, all whilst helping to raise vital funds to ensure its future prosperity!

Upon completion of the tour, you will be treated to a sweet bite of your choice, as well as a glass of fizz or one of our delicious global teas, on The Terrace at the newly-restored Camellia House! You’re then free to wander the House & Gardens for the rest of the day, taking in our Wentworth’s Coal Story and Beneath the Surface | George Stubbs & Contemporary Artists exhibitions in the State Rooms.

Whether you’re an ex-Lady Mabel College student, a local resident with an ancestral connection to the House or an urban tourist keen to seek out unique spaces, this is a rare opportunity to explore Wentworth Woodhouse’s unseen areas with a knowledgeable guide.

Price: £100.00 per person (includes refreshments and House & Gardens admission)

If you’re interested in joining us and either have areas in mind that you would like to visit (your old dormitory for example) or would like us to create an exciting, private tour for you and your family or friends, please get in touch!

To book and for any further queries on availability, please email Beth directly to arrange the date, time and bespoke route of your Behind The Scenes Tour: beth@wentworthwoodhouse.org.uk.
