Join us for the second nature discovery session all about trees and plants! Young curious minds will learn how to identify plants by their leaves and the age of a tree.

As part of our Big House Heroes fundraising campaign, Darfield-based milliner, Sherry Richardson, is kindly hosting a Fascinator-Making Workshop where you will come away with your very own fascinator made from a hat-making fabric called 'sinamay'.

The Memory Café is suitable for those living with dementia, or memory loss, and their carers. In the beautiful surroundings of The Camellia House, the Memory Café will explore local history and culture, through crafting, hands-on activities and conversation, alongside hot drinks and cake.

Monday 8th July | Inspired by the George Stubbs Exhibition, explore Stubbs' connection to Wentworth Woodhouse and have a go at your own masterpiece.

  • Parking and entry is via the new Stables Car Park (on the right-hand side before reaching The Stables) where you will be greeted by members of our team.

  • The Memory Café is suitable for those living well with dementia or memory loss, and their carers.  Those with dementia should attend with a friend, carer or loved one.

  • The Camellia House is fully accessible to wheelchair users.

  • A Changing Places toilet facility is available next to The Camellia House.

Can you put your best foot forward and complete our Figure of Eight Follies Challenge?

Back by popular demand, our Follies Challenge covers 20km (13 miles) of South Yorkshire countryside and takes in the four follies linked to Wentworth Woodhouse’s history. Our team of guides will give you a warm welcome on the day as well as giving a brief talk at each monument. A light lunch will be provided in the Low Drawing Room part way through the walk, where you will be able to rest your legs and enjoy a selection of savoury snacks and refreshments, before heading back out to complete the challenge!

  • The terrain is moderate with some steady climbs, uneven surfaces, stiles and sections which can be muddy and slippery.

Discover what life was like underground for coal miners who worked in the mines owned by the Fitzwilliam family. Have a go at charcoal drawings inspired by mining stories, make a ‘miner’s snap’ for lunch and find out about the courageous pit ponies.
